Welcome to October, Friends!
A few short months ago we were reveling in the easy-go-lucky warmth of summer, and now we’re bundling up again as fall starts to set in. For those of you with young children, we hope the start of another school year has been smooth and easy. And for those who celebrate, we hope that you are having a happy and a sweet new year.
Like the seasons and the leaves, some changes are welcome and others are not. On the positive side the COVID pandemic is not yet completely over and behind us but we have made a lot of progress. A safer population is allowing many regulations and restrictions to be lifted. That has permitted many of us to return in greater numbers to activities that had previously been limited, most notably indoor events and gatherings.
Among all the rejuvenated in-person events, we are especially happy to see the return of live resource fairs. One such fair is the upcoming NYC Autism Tech, Innovation & Career Expo on October 22. (See our Upcoming Events page)
For those of you who have ever met us at a resource fair, you know that we are truly in our element when we can meet with so many families face-to-face. Answering questions and providing guidance on financial issues like benefits planning, retirement readiness, and care and support for loved ones with disabilities puts a smile on our face like almost nothing else. So come out on 10/22 and say hi if you can. It will be good to see you again!
On the other side of things, market volatility is one of those unwelcome changes we have been challenged to face. Fluctuations are inevitable but unpredictable, which is why trying to time the markets is impossible. Instead, we have to have a proactive approach to risk management, taking care to make sure that our assets are properly located as well as allocated, and that we have full and optimal protection in all critical areas of our financial world. Even if we can’t predict it, we can be prepared for it.
Are you ready for the ups and downs? Do you have a portfolio that can weather all the seasons? And are you properly balanced and aligned, ready to go out and face the world and all it has to offer? If not, then you need to reach out and talk to us now. Just like how you rotate your clothes, putting the shorts and tank tops away in storage and pulling out the sweaters and jackets, you can make reviewing and refreshing your financial plans a part of your yearly routine.
Working together, we can strategize for a future with more treats and less tricks. Isn’t that something to be thankful for?
